We are getting into the swing of things with our $10 Christmas Challenge! One of the things I hope we accomplish through this is using up some of the materials we have laying around the house. I’ll admit that I’m a little manic when it comes to arts and crafting. (You might be surprised to know that I actually have BFA degree in Art with a specialty in Interior Design.) Anyway, I feel extreme need to be surrounded by art supplies so that I can create whenever the urge hits me! Sometimes, however, I find myself a little, shall we say, overstocked. I really need to actually MAKE something instead of just buying supplies to make things!
With that being said, I thought you might like a look at my craft room or “studio.” I like “studio” better, it sounds much more professional!
Yarn! This isn’t quite all of it. I’m going to be doing a lot of knitting for Christmas! |
Fabric, patterns, sewing machine. (P.S. There’s more fabric stashed in my closet. Don’t tell anyone!) (P.P.S. This stash is NOTHING compared to some of my friends!!) |
General crafting supplies, wrapping paper, etc. |
Ironing board for crafting only. I really stink at ironing clothes. |
Paint! Tiger paining by Erica! |
This is a sign I painted. It’s a good reminder at Christmas and the rest of the year too! |
This is a work in progress, it will hang in our bedroom. If you weren’t a fan of the show “Friends” this makes no sense to you. Just smile and nod. |
So, a quick rundown of craft supplies that I have at my disposal:
- yarn & knitting needles
- fabric, sewing machine, patterns
- paint & paint pens
- markers & colored pencils
- canvas
- wood and wood plaques
- candle making supplies
- soap making supplies
- little containers for homemade lipgloss, lotion, etc.
- tiles
- Mod Podge
- Scrapbook paper (just a few sheets)
I’m sure there are others I’m forgetting. The moral of the story is, it’s time to get crafting! I have all sorts of stuff to create! In my next post I’ll show some of the actual gift ideas that I plan to make!

Not near as large as a fabric stash as others!!!
I get this…………:)
I was thinking to myself “this stash is NOTHING! One day I’ll sneak to my friends’ houses and show what a stash REALLY looks like!”
You will be glad to know that I have been thrifting more this weekend and have discovered a great love of re-purposing old fabrics, so my stash has grown considerably… 🙂
