Well, I have an update on my swarms, and it isn’t a good one.
- I didn’t catch 2 swarms last week. I caught the same swarm twice.
- They rejected my spare top-bar hive twice.
- The third time they swarmed, I made a valiant effort to catch them again, but I just couldn’t get them into the box. They were last seen flying off my property and into the wild blue yonder.
- I’m sad.
- And I got stung on the forehead. In pretty much the same spot where the goat hit me. It hurts.
- On the bright side we opened up all the other hives yesterday and all was well with them. We added a second super to our most active hive, and added bars to the top bar hive.
- I can almost taste the honey!
