Top 10 Reasons to Plant a Fall Garden
- Just because your cucumbers are gone doesn’t mean your growing season is over!
- Many fall crops are low maintenance!
- Some fall crops will even last all winter and into the spring (especially here in the Deep South.)
- Salads taste twice as nice when you grew the lettuce yourself.
- One word. KALE!!!!
- Swiss Chard is simply beautiful! Stick it in a vase inside if you don’t feel like eating it!
- Children love to grow carrots.
- Gardening is great exercise regardless of season.
- It isn’t too hot to actually enjoy your fall garden.
- Fall crops hold your soil in place and prevent weed overgrowth!

We are actually going to plant a fall garden full of peas today. Our summer garden was a bust bc of the weather so we are going to try to at least get some fresh peas out of it.
I hope they do well! This summer’s weather was brutal on everyone’s garden!
