Nothing all that major happened, but the little things were piling up faster than I could deal with them.
The doctor’s office was supposed to mail me a hard copy of my thyroid prescription to take to Ireland just in case I needed it. Well, they did that, but it wasn’t signed. That’s just not helpful.
The pharmacy filled the wrong prescription for me and won’t take back their mistake, because in their exact words “well you bought it…” There was no worry over the fact that if I hadn’t caught their mistake I would have been taking the wrong dosage for the next 3 months. No offer of getting me the right thing. Not their problem. So now I’m switching to a local pharmacy, which of course I should have done to begin with, but I really don’t have time to deal with that right now.
My washing machine keeps filling with water and then stopping, and I find my wash just stewing in the dirty water when I go to swap it. Sometimes it doesn’t want to turn on at all. Sometimes the washer works fine, but the dryer won’t turn on. The automatic folding machine doesn’t work at all. *sigh*
We found a dead chicken in the barn.
I was trying to help Eric cook BBQ to take to the family reunion this weekend, and the grill kept going out.
A dog showed up at our house and tried to adopt us (luckily Eric later managed to find the owner and return the dog!)
The sole of my favorite boots started to rip off. By this point I felt like MY soul was being ripped off.
It was just one. thing. after. another.
Apparently Eric’s day at work wasn’t any better. Trying to prepare everything to run smoothly during vacation is never easy on him. I hated to even vent to him, but I know he doesn’t mind.
So I texted him that I was having a really “shirty” morning.
Yep. Even Apple’s autocorrect system seems to think that I need to clean up my sailor’s mouth. So, despite all the things we had to complain about last night, we had something to laugh about too. We both just had “shirty” days. It happens. Finding some humor in the situation helps to lighten the load tremendously though!
Here’s to putting “shirty” days behind us and making the most of the situation!
Happily shared on the Clever Chicks Blog Hop!
Your comments about your “happenings” either at the homestead or away ( LOVED the big green Jesus…. had tears from laughing over the funeral part!!!!) and it brings back some of the things that happened when I was younger and had my milk cow and pig…more humor there AFTER the fact than during!!! Thanks for sharing!!! Glad I found your site…gotta LOVE Pinterest!!!! lol
