One of the things I missed when I lived in the city was a true connection with the seasons. Yes, I looked forward to seeing the dogwoods bloom around Easter or the leaves begin to change in the fall, but honestly, that’s all the season change meant to me. It was a change of scenery and wardrobe.
My day to day life was affected very little bu the changing of the seasons. The same foods are available in the grocery store year-round. I taught swimming lessons at the local Y in any weather other than thunderstorms. I was disconnected.
I know that feeling doesn’t bother some people, but I just hated it. If you are feeling like I was, I have a book that will help you reconnect with the seasonal changes. Kathie has developed a weekly workbook to help you reconnect with the seasons in a meaningful way. This would be great to go through by yourself, but I think it would be even more fun with a group of friends.
