I just love cooking dishes that can make using as many of my farm fresh ingredients as possible. Recipes featuring our eggs, milk, cream, pork, chicken and vegetables make me ridiculously happy. Like, CRAZY happy.
With that being said, I have been meaning to write up a quick and easy hollandaise sauce recipe for ages now, but I just hadn’t gotten around to it. However, when my 10 year old daughter whipped up a delicious version the other night, I thought to myself, “Anyone can do this! What in the world are you waiting on? Write the dang recipe already!”
So I am.
This is really so easy.
All you need for Farm Fresh Hollandaise sauce:
-
egg yolks
-
butter
-
lemon juice
-
salt
-
a little dash of hot sauce
-
and a blender or food processor (We love our Vitamix *affiliate link* for this!)
You can easily half this hollandaise sauce recipe if you are cooking for a smaller family. There are six of us these days, so we need the big batch at our house!
- 6 farm fresh egg yolks
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Pinch of salt
- 6 shakes of hot sauce
- 1 cup butter
- Melt butter in a small pot over medium heat until bubbly and very warm.
- Add egg yolks, lemon juice, salt and hot sauce to your blender.
- Place the lid on blender and turn it up to medium speed.
- Remove the middle of the lid and drizzle in the butter slowly in a thin stream. It should take a minute or two to add all of the butter.
- Once all the butter is in, your sauce should be thick and creamy.
- Taste and make any adjustments you like, then serve immediately over vegetables, meat, eggs, or anything you like!
