Some days being a blogger is just a super-cool job, especially when I get to find out about really neat things and then share them with my readers! I have been a fan of the Herbal Academy of New England for quite some time now, and just this week, they have launched a cool new online space.
The Herbarium is a new members only online hangout for Herbalists of all knowledge and ability levels. I have been in for a look around and it seems really cool. It contains a library section which contains useful articles on using herbs. A forum for discussing herbs with like-minded people and my personal favorite, monographs for helping identify herbs and their uses, including proper harvesting and listing any sustainability issues.
Disclaimer: I have been given a free trial membership to The Herbarium so that I could write this review. I also make a small commission on items sold. That being said, as always, I never endorse products or companies that I don’t believe in, so you are reading my honest opinion about a company I love. If I love it, it is likely that my readers will too, so I promise to pass along those things that excite me, and just “pass” on those that don’t. Deal?
Here are some things you will find in the Herbarium:
Herb taste substitutions. Don’t have the herb your recipe calls for? Here are some other things that would work in your recipe instead!
Monographs at a glance. Notice that you can search or browse at the top for what you are looking for. I have been told that they will be adding to this database regularly.
More monograph details:
A membership to the Herbarium would make a great Christmas gift for anyone who longs to know more about using herbs for their health. If you sign up before November 30, you can join for only $39 using the coupon code GIVETHANKS at checkout.
Is a membership to The Herbarium not quite what you were looking for? The Herbal Academy of New England also offers online courses:
