Handmade Christmas Stockings

I just love decorating for Christmas!

It’s like, your house looks one way for 11 months out of the year, and then BAM!  Everything changes for the month of December.  It’s just part of the magic of Christmas, I suppose.  Cookies, trees, glitter.  I love it!

Anyway, when this blog was just a baby blog, I posted about our handmade knitted Christmas stockings, and people really seemed to like them.  So, in the spirit of a magical handmade Christmas, I have created a board over at Hometalk that showcases all my favorite handmade Christmas stockings.

I sure did.  In fact, it took a major shift in my attitude for me to come to terms with my new style of decorating.  I have now fully embraced our big colorful Christmas.  Here’s a bit more about it.  (P.S.  I have since painted the house and all that wallpaper is gone.  I thought you would want to know!)

And finally, because we’re all about those goats around here, I’ll share my extremely low-tech homestead Christmas tree recycling program!  People now bring us trees from all over town and my goats love us for it!  Later, we use the wood in our fire pit for cooking hot dogs and general family fun around the campfire.  Nothing goes to waste!
