I just can’t tell you how happy I am to finally be able to share all the hard work I put into my cookbook, The Homestead Kitchen, with the world! When you really put your heart and soul into a project, it just feels amazing to finally have it come to fruition!
I know it’s hard to read the back cover here, but this is what it says:
Often as homesteaders, we find ourselves overwhelmed by the foods we worked so hard to produce. Fruits and vegetables from our garden (or our CSA basket) overflow the counters, raw milk is taking over the fridge, the chickens are laying eggs like crazy, and yet, it’s still hard to figure out how to get a fresh meal on the table each night.
The Homestead Kitchen will guide you to plan menus around what you have on hand. It provides frugal tips to help you get every ounce of goodness from your fresh ingredients and it will give you the confidence you need to turn your ingredients into easy, delicious meals.
The book includes 40 real-food recipes, each featuring fresh ingredients that can be raised on a small homestead or purchased at many farmers’ markets. Each recipe also includes a mouth-watering picture.
Here’s a little sneak peak at the contents, but if you want to see a little more, just click here *affiliate link* to go view the book on Amazon and click “see inside” and it will show you some of the first and last pages of the book! I had no idea they would do that, but I think it’s super-cool! What a neat surprise!
So this is the zucchini soup that my friends and I just swoon over in the summer months.
And this is the meatloaf that my kids demolish every chance they get. Yes, my kids love meatloaf and they are always baffled when they hear people bash it on TV, so just stop it already! Meatloaf is delicious, I just think that perhaps it would do better with a new cool name. Any suggestions?
And finally, here are some other scrumptious treats you will find in the cookbook.
Hungry yet?
Of course once you finish the hard part of making a cookbook, it’s time for the super-duper hard part of marketing a cookbook! I mean, it’s great to have the book out there, but only if people actually read it! So, to get the ball rolling, I’m hosting a little giveaway!

Woohoo!
So excited for you! Would love to win a copy!
I have a fetish for cookbooks so this will be one added to my collection… I hope I win but if not I will be purchasing one.
Blessings
Congrats on the cookbook. It sounds perfect. I was just commenting to a friend yesterday as we were in the midst of butchering a pig, that of course I would end up eating popcorn for dinner. Sigh….. Your cookbook sounds like exactly what I need to start cooking all this food my farm is producing!
I hope the book can give you some inspiration, but sadly, chicken processing day usually ends up being restaurant night. We usually end up somewhere that sells anything but chicken at that point! 🙂
Congrats!! This has got to be such an exciting time for you! The cookbook looks awesome. I, like everyone else would LOVE to win your signed copy!!
I totally get the whole, “Here we have all this fantastic food…now what’s for dinner?”
hahaha, some time the old brain just stops coming-up with new-fresh ideas. This cookbook is right up our alley as we have a large veggie garden, fruit trees , berries, chickens(eggs & meat), turkeys, rabbits and soon access to fresh goat milk!
Thank you so much for this great opportunity & congrats again on getting published!
Sincerely-Danielle
I would love to win a copy of your book! 🙂
