A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned in a post our need for a new push mower for maintaining my garden area and other spots in the yard where the lawn tractor won’t reach well. I posted that while Eric was at work, so he had not read it yet when he came home that night. When he came in he said “I made a deal with a guy at work, but if you don’t approve, then I can un-deal it.”
Basically, without having read my post, he worked out a deal to trade some of his famous bbq to a buddy from work in exchange for a lawnmower that was exactly what we needed. In fact, it had been listed on Craigslist and I’m pretty sure it was one I had my eye on!

We had been without a push mower for probably 6 months at this point, and on the same day I mentioned needing one, he worked out a deal to get us one. I probably should have titled this post “Ask and you shall receive!”
I just love that in this day and age we are still able to barter for the things we need! I truly think it makes you appreciate what you have even more. I am so thankful for our new mower. We were able to mow my garden yesterday and after many trips to the composter, I have one section nearly full of grass clippings and garden waste that will soon be awesome dirt!
