I thought I would post a quick file cabinet makeover today that I did awhile back. This project was nearly free. My parents gave me the file cabinet and a dear friend gave me the floral fabric. My only expenses were a jar of mod podge and a can of spray paint!
Here is the before shot:

Functional File Cabinet |
- Add 2 coats of pink spray paint to the cabinet base
- Mod Podge fabric onto drawer fronts, (being careful not to allow fabric to bunch up around the sides of the drawers, or they won’t close later)
- Don’t glue over drawer pulls (or lock if you have one)
- Let it dry
- With a utility knife, cut away fabric around drawer pulls and lock
- Apply a second coat of Mod Podge
- Let it dry
- Apply a clear spray paint top coat
- Let it dry
- Reassemble and enjoy your brand new file cabinet!
