Blessings

I thought I would share something a little different today.  I made a really neat sign for my father in law for Christmas.  Basically, I took the blessing he usually says before dinner and made it into art in my photo editing software.  I then had it printed (at Sam’s Club) and I framed it. I plan on making a copy for myself to hang in my dining room!  I thought I would share it with you!

I don’t have the software to turn this into a .pdf to share, but you are welcome to save the image and use it, or if you need a higher quality file, leave a comment or send me an email with your email address and I’ll send it to you!

I also thought I would share the blessing that we taught the children, and that we sing before meals here.  It just seems appropriate for this homesteading life we lead.  I wish I knew who wrote this, I can find the lyrics all over the web, but no one seems to know where it originated.  I first learned it in Girl Scouts.  We heard it (along with more verses) in a Disney movie about American heroes recently.

Johnny Appleseed Prayer
The Lord is good to me
And so I thank the Lord
For giving me the things I need
The sun and the rain and the apple seed
The Lord is good to me
Amen

Here’s to counting our blessings in 2013!
