Millions of Peaches, Peaches for Me!

Summer is here!!  I’m so excited to report that we are picking peaches off of our trees this year!  We have 3 mature peach trees to the side of our house.  Supposedly, we have an early variety, a mid-season variety, and a late variety.  Last year we didn’t get any peaches from them because we had to prune them so aggressively after we moved in, but this year, our early tree is loaded and ripening!
Today’s haul (minus the ones that went into the cobbler!)
I’ll just tell you, these aren’t just any peaches.  These are sweet, delicious, juice dripping down your elbow peaches!
This is my favorite fruit in the whole world!
I made the first of many cobblers last night, and I’m itching to make some preserves this weekend.  I made Rosemary Peach Preserves a few years ago, and you just haven’t lived until you have had that on a pork roast.  Great.  Now I’m hungry for peaches AND pork roast.
May your weekend be filled with picking and preserving!

  1. This is our second year with out peach trees and still no peaches. How long does it take for them to start bearing? I love peach cobbler too.

  2. We had one at our old house and it was probably the third year before we had a decent crop. I’m crossing my fingers that next year is your year!!
