Top 10 Reasons to Plant a Fall Garden
  1. Just because your cucumbers are gone doesn’t mean your growing season is over!
  2. Many fall crops are low maintenance!
  3. Some fall crops will even last all winter and into the spring (especially here in the Deep South.)
  4. Salads taste twice as nice when you grew the lettuce yourself.
  5. One word.  KALE!!!!
  6. Swiss Chard is simply beautiful!  Stick it in a vase inside if you don’t feel like eating it!
  7. Children love to grow carrots.
  8. Gardening is great exercise regardless of season.
  9. It isn’t too hot to actually enjoy your fall garden.
  10. Fall crops hold your soil in place and prevent weed overgrowth!

  1. We are actually going to plant a fall garden full of peas today. Our summer garden was a bust bc of the weather so we are going to try to at least get some fresh peas out of it.
