Boothby's blonde cucumber - world's yummiest cucumber

Boothby’s Blonde Cucumbers

This morning I want to continue my review of the favorite things I planted last year by talking about my favorite cucumbers of all time!

Boothby's blonde cucumber - world's yummiest cucumber

Now cucumbers have always been my favorite veggie. (Don’t tell Kale, I still love you Kale!) Some of my fondest memories of gardening growing up involved going out into the garden with my Grandaddy and picking cucumbers that were barely big enough to pick.  He would peel it with his pocket knife and I would enjoy the warm cucumber right there in the garden.  Nothing tasted better!  He always saved the first one of the season for me!

I sure wish he could have tasted the Boothby’s Blonde Cucumbers I grew last year from Annie’s Heirloom Seeds.  He would have been so proud.

These tiny little cucumbers are ready to eat when they are only 2-3 inches long, which is perfect because I don’t like waiting!  Buttery seems like a strange word to describe cucumbers, but these little guys are the buttery, I tell you!  Anyway, if you love cucumbers, treat yourself and go order some of these to plant!  They beat my “straight eights” by a mile in terms of flavor.

Another great thing about these cukes is that they are equally good for pickling as they are for fresh eating, so that makes them pretty perfect in my eyes!

Oh, and I’m not affiliated with Annie’s in any way, except as a customer.  I’m just sharing what worked for me, and what I plan to plant again this year!
